SenseAbility Therapy ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of the children, families and other individuals we work with. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and how you can access or correct it. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
The information we collect
- Contact and enquiry details you give us directly, such as your name, email address, phone number, the name of the person receiving support, your relationship to them, and the content of your message, when you use the enquiry form on this website or contact us by phone or email.
- Referral and booking information, if you complete an NDIS or private referral form. These forms are submitted directly through Splose, our practice management and booking platform, and may include the participant's name, date of birth, contact details, NDIS plan details (where applicable), and information about presenting concerns.
- Health and therapy information, once you engage with our services. This may include developmental history, functional information, and progress notes, generally provided by you, other health providers involved in your child's care, or gathered during assessment and therapy sessions.
- Website usage information. Google Analytics collects aggregated information about how this website is used (such as pages visited), and Google reCAPTCHA collects information to help protect our enquiry form from spam.
How we collect it
- Directly from you, via our website's enquiry form, referral forms, phone or email.
- From other people involved in your child's care, such as referrers, other health professionals, schools or support coordinators, but only with your consent.
- Automatically, through website analytics and security tools, when you visit our website.
Why we collect and use it
- To respond to enquiries and arrange appointments.
- To provide occupational therapy assessment and treatment.
- To prepare reports and documentation, such as NDIS Functional Capacity Assessments, that you have requested.
- To communicate with other professionals involved in your child's care, with your consent.
- To meet our legal, professional and regulatory obligations as an AHPRA-registered occupational therapist.
- To maintain and improve our website and services.
Who we share information with
We do not sell personal information to third parties. We may share information with:
- Splose, our practice management platform, which stores and processes referral and booking information.
- Google (Analytics and reCAPTCHA), which processes aggregated website usage and spam-protection data under Google's own privacy policy.
- The NDIA, support coordinators or plan managers, only where you have asked us to, or as required for NDIS-funded supports.
- Other health, education or support professionals involved in your child's care, only with your consent.
Health information
Health information is treated as sensitive information under the Privacy Act, and is only collected, used and disclosed with your consent, or as otherwise permitted or required by law.
Cookies and website analytics
This website uses Google Analytics cookies to understand how the site is used, and Google reCAPTCHA to help prevent spam through our enquiry form. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect some site functionality.
Data storage and security
Personal information is stored securely with reputable service providers, including our website host, email provider and Splose. We take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.
How long we keep information
We retain personal and health information for as long as required to provide our services, and to meet our professional, legal and regulatory record-keeping obligations as a registered health practitioner.

You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you or your child at any time by contacting us using the details below.
Children's information
Most of the information we collect relates to children and young people, and is generally provided to us by a parent or guardian on their behalf. We handle this information with the same care and protections as any other personal or health information.
